A work-at-your-own-pace series of fun video tutorials to learn 15 piano songs by The Hush Sound. After all these years, I still receive so many requests to learn these songs that I decided to create this course and donate a portion of the proceeds to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), a non-profit organization that provides legal assistance in cases where civil liberties are at risk. This course is for advancing beginners to intermediate players. You do *not* need to know how to read sheet music to enjoy this course. BONUS features: this course also includes basic music theory lessons with a compositional approach and hand strength building exercises.

Greta Morgan

Greta Morgan is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who began touring professionally at 16 with her first band The Hush Sound and, in the time since, has released 8 records (Springtime Carnivore, Gold Motel, Katy Goodman + Greta Morgan) and toured the world extensively as a touring member of Vampire Weekend. Her songs and instrumental compositions have been featured in dozens of TV shows and films including Nashville, Grey's Anatomy, House, Shameless (Showtime), Catfish (MTV), 13 Reasons Why, and many more.

Greta's teaching approach is part technique/craft-focused, part art-therapy. She is a creativity midwife with a unique gift for seeing the truth in others and using that as the key to unlock their creative potential and discover new aspects of their artistic voice. Her holistic philosophy is based on playfulness, curiosity, and experimentation. Thank you for being part of this experience.

Frequently Asked Questions


When does the course start and finish?
The is a completely self-paced online course - you decide when you start and when you finish! The course will be launched with 5 song lessons included and then I'll be adding a new song lesson every Friday for 10 weeks, choosing the additional songs in the course based on your requests! There will be 15 songs included total and you can access them on your phone or computer 24 hours a day.
Do I need to be able to read sheet music?
Nope! All the videos will explain and show how to play the songs without sheet music. I may occasionally include notation as a bonus for people who do read it, but everything will be explained very clearly on video so that you don't need it.
What if I am a beginner?
This course will be best enjoyed by someone who has a basic understanding of the names of notes, counting rhythm, and basic chords. However, if you are an absolute beginner, you could start with songs like Wine Red and You are the Moon, then move onto more difficult songs. You can easily pause the videos to work along at your own pace. I will be adding beginner modifications to many of the more difficult songs so that, even if you can't play the song exactly as it is on the record, you'll be able to play a simpler arrangement.
